Hikers' Cabin Station Eisden

Beautifully located at the former train station of Eisden you will find the brand new hiker's huts of the National Park Hoge Kempen. These are upgraded “hikers” huts where you can stay overnight with up to 4 people per hut.
We have two hiker's huts available: hikers' hut “Wagon”, and hikers' hut “Locomotive”.

Both hiker cabins are located next to each other at the end of stage 2 of the National Park Trail [1]. Next to the cabins is cycling and hiking café “De Statie” where you can go for a snack and a drink (opening hours [2]). The hiker's huts are intended for trekkers (hikers) who hike the National Park Trail [3] in several days, and long-distance cyclists who use the bike trail network, and who want basic but inexpensive lodging along the way.

Facilities

Each hiker’s cabin is equipped with the following amenities, making it truly a premium hiker’s cabin:

4 sleeping spots: these are located on a level accessible only by ladder. This requires good physical condition and agility. The Wagon cabin has 4 single mattresses on two mezzanines (lofts). The Locomotive cabin has 2 single mattresses on the mezzanine (loft) and a sofa bed for 2 people on the ground floor.

Price

The price for a night’s stay in a hiker’s cabin is €145 for one night, for up to 4 people, which works out to €36.25 per night per person. The price includes the following:

Use of the above equipment
Bedding (sheets, down comforter, pillow with pillowcase, mattress cover) - You are, of course, free to use your own sleeping bag
Kitchen linens (kitchen towel and dishcloth)
Water/electricity
Final cleaning

Towels are not provided, so you must bring your own. There is no Wi-Fi, so you can enjoy going offline!
Persons under the age of 18 must always be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not allowed.

Not included in the price: Maasmechelen municipal tourist tax: €3 per person per night.

CHECK-IN:

After booking, you will receive a confirmation email that allows you to check in
Check-in is available from 4:00 PM
There is no curfew for check-in.

CHECK-OUT:

Check out by 11:00 AM.
Remove bed linens and kitchen towels and leave them in the shower.
Empty the refrigerator.
Don’t forget to turn off the lights and close the door securely.
Of course, we ask that you leave the cabin tidy.

RESERVE:

Select one of the two hiking cabins below, enter your desired dates, your personal information, and payment details. You must pay for your reservation immediately; otherwise, it will automatically expire after 1 hour. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with all the details.
The hiking cabins are not available for booking from December 1 through March 1.

CANCELLATION:

You may cancel your reservation up to 7 days in advance, in which case we will issue a refund. A service fee of 10 euros will be deducted per reserved item in the event of cancellation.
