Curious about the mysterious Ecotron of Hasselt University?
On the basis of team assignments, participants can unravel the whys and wherefores of this research installation. The Ecotron is a unique, high-tech research facility in which Hasselt University researchers study the effects of climate change on biodiversity. The Ecotron is part of the Field Research Centre, the scientific base of Hasselt University for international top research on biodiversity and climate in the Hoge Kempen National Park. Afterwards, the Ranger will take you for a look behind the scenes.
The Ecotron Mystery is suitable for both secondary-school students and adult groups who wish to engage in a team activity. This is an outdoor activity, so please bring appropriate footwear and clothing.
This activity falls within the scope of what the UHasselt@school offers and is free of charge for schools thanks to funding by Hasselt University.
- Period: The activity takes place all year round.
- Location: 'Connecterra'.
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Participation: max. 25 participants per Ranger (only one group can come along at a time, this activity can be combined with another ranger activity)
- Price: 70 euros per Ranger (free for schools thanks to funding by the University of Hasselt).
